In our ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and security of our schools, the Shield Coordinator—alongside local law enforcement—will be testing a weapons detection system at our secondary schools over the next few days.
As part of this testing, students may be asked to walk through the detection system before entering the building. Please note that this system is mobile and may also be utilized at various events across the county to further support and improve our existing safety practices.

SAT: A reminder--the SAT will be administered on Tuesday, 4/15. Students please make sure that you arrive at school on time and have your Macbooks fully charged. Students have worked very hard to prepare for the SAT. If you have any questions concerning the SAT, please call the school at 273-9301.
ATTENTION PARENTS OF UPCOMING 12TH GRADERS
The Jackson County Wellness Center will be at Ravenswood High School to administer the required Meningococcal vaccine for upcoming 12th graders who register. A registration form and a letter with more details will be sent home with your student today. I f you choose the convenience of having your child’s required vaccine done at school, please review and return the registration form by Wednesday, April 30th. Survey: We will be conducting a survey through the health department in April. A description of the survey includes: the student survey focuses on substance abuse, school climate, and
risks and protective factors. It is used by schools and community organizations to gain insights into student behaviors and track trends within a community. If you do not wish for your child to participate, please call the school at (304) 273-9301 or send a note.

Good evening. This is a reminder that Jackson County Schools will be closed for Spring Break beginning Monday, March 24, 2025, through Friday, March 28, 2025. Also, by utilizing our NTI Days and Equivalent Time Days when schools were closed due to inclement weather, the last day of school for students is still May 30, 2025. Career Fair: Ravenswood High School is hosting a Career Fair in the DAC from 8:30-11:00 on Friday, 3/14. Employment, apprenticeship, technical training and military opportunities will be emphasized at this event. The schedule is as follows:
Seniors: 8:30 - 9:15
Juniors: 9:20 - 10:05
Sophomores and interested Freshmen: 10:00 - 11:00

Phishing email: We wanted to inform you that some of our students have recently been targeted by phishing emails. These deceptive messages are designed to appear as legitimate emails, often asking for personal information or prompting recipients to click on suspicious links or attachments.
To protect your child and their personal information, we strongly encourage you to remind them not to open any suspicious emails. Here are a few important tips to help avoid phishing attacks:
Do not open emails from unknown senders or those that seem unusual or unsolicited.
Be cautious of attachments or links in emails, especially if they seem out of place or contain odd requests.
Look for signs of phishing, such as misspelled words, urgent language, or unfamiliar sender addresses.
We take online security seriously and will continue to educate students on how to spot phishing attempts. However, we ask for your support in reinforcing these safety measures at home.
