Good afternoon. This is Will Hosaflook, Superintendent of Jackson County Schools. On Tuesday, December 19, our internet service provider WVNET will be completing network maintenance on their server systems. It is very likely all governmental agencies and schools in West Virginia will not have internet access. However, all school phone systems should work if you need to contact the school. School personnel are aware of the internet outage and have adjusted their plans accordingly. Tuesday will be our last full day of school before Christmas break, while on Wednesday, December 20, students will be dismissed 3 hours early. Please have a wonderful Holiday Season.

Permission slip: reminder to Seniors who are attending the movie on Friday--please return your permission slip . Again, the trip is to celebrate the academic achievement from the SAT scores. Thank you, Bill Heis, Principal

Parents and/or Guardians of sophomores: On Tuesday, December 12, the 10th grade students will travel by bus to the Roane Jackson Technical Center. Students will tour the Technical Center and have a short assembly with the Director of RJTC. The bus will leave Ravenswood High at 8:15 and return to school at 11:15. Parents and/or Guardians of Seniors: Congratulations Seniors on your remarkable SAT scores! To celebrate your academic achievement, Ravenswood High is sponsoring a trip to the Regal Grand Central Mall on Friday, 12/15, where you will have an opportunity to watch Wonka. The bus will leave at approximately 9:30 and return by 3:00 (screening time at 11). Lunch will be provided, but you will have the opportunity to visit the food court if you wish. Financial Aid Workshop: A Financial Aid Workshop will be held Thursday Night, 11/2/ at 6:00 pm in the RHS Library for seniors and their parents. The different types of Financial Aid will be discussed and families can create FSA IDS that night, which are required to complete the FAFSA in December. Make plans to be there and bring your MacBooks.
